Get a Jumpstart on Your Spring Cleaning
Spring is thankfully right around the corner! Now is the time to start doing a little spring cleaning inside the house so when nice weather comes you can spend that time outdoors.
If you have any area rugs, take them outside on the next pretty day and let them air out.
Shake them out really good because a vacuum doesn’t always remove all of the nasty, embedded dust and dirt. It doesn’t have to be exceptionally warm to air out your rugs. Even a nice cooler day, with a mild breeze and the sun shining down, can freshen and lift the nap on a rug.
You can also get a head start on a little spring cleaning by starting to go through those heavy winter clothes. If there are some clothes that you have not worn this year, you should consider setting them aside for a spring rummage sale or you may even want to consider donating them to a shelter or your local Goodwill. Removing these winter clothes will free up space in your closet for those fabulous spring items you have or may soon purchase! Don’t forget to go through your shoes as well!
Another way to freshen things up is to remove and store those heavier comforters and quilts. Be sure to clean these items according to the manufacturers instructions before storing. Your lighter bedding items that have been in storage can be freshened up with the help of a Jiffy Steamer® model J-2000. This steamer which is recommended for home use can help remove those wrinkles and creases from those items that have been folded and stored.
Getting a little jumpstart on spring cleaning can give you a feeling of accomplishment and free you up for outside adventures when those nice days arrive!
